Two Founders and Forty Boxes of Cigars

Nathan Kalasho and Angela Yue built Lord Puffer on Las Villas Way and stocked it heavier than almost anywhere else on the West Coast. The Arturo Fuente family has stood behind the counter more than once — Lord Puffer has hosted Fuente Fever, one of the largest Fuente events on the West Coast, with proceeds going to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.

What started as one humidor has grown into three lounges, a covered patio built for Saturday barbecue, and a walk-in humidor that we will, without much modesty, call the largest in California. What hasn’t changed is the part that mattered in the first place: a good chair, decent light, and enough time to actually sit in it.

The free weekend cookout started right here, long before it was a tradition anywhere else. Some habits, it turns out, are worth keeping exactly as they started.

II The Lounge

Three Rooms. One Patio. Somewhere for Every Mood.

Not every visit calls for the same room. Some nights call for leather and a ballgame. Some call for a patio, a plate of ribs, and a slow-burning toro. Some call for a locked door and nobody’s phone going off. Lord Puffer built all three, and stocked every one of them from the same walk-in humidor.

The Main Lounge

Chesterfield leather, exposed brick, and a screen built for Sunday football. Open to members and walk-ins alike, first come, first seated.

Covered, heated on cold nights, and built around a BBQ pit that runs hot every Friday. Bring the plaid-chair theory of relaxation to life.
