Three Generations Under One Roof

Lord Puffer opened in 1998 above what used to be a shoe repair stall on Las Villas Way — six feet of glass counter, six chairs, and a promise from founder Ray Alvarez that Escondido deserved better than gas-station stogies. Twenty-eight years and three expansions later, that promise is the reason the humidor now runs the length of the building.

Ray's daughter Marisol runs the floor today. The chesterfields she picked for the main lounge came from the same upholstery shop her grandfather used for forty years. Some habits, like some blends, only get better with age.
