The Slow Fuente: Why We Still Sell Out Every Friday
Fuente Friday isn't a gimmick. It's the one day the regulars actually show up on time.
Read the EntryThe largest humidor in California. Three lounges, one patio, and a room that was built to be still.
Lord Puffer opened its doors on Las Villas Way in 2004, back when this stretch of Escondido was mostly citrus groves and quiet. Three families have kept the humidor stocked since — same wood shelving, same slow Sunday afternoons, same argument over which Fuente closes out a night the right way.
We never set out to be fast, or loud, or easy to sum up in a headline. We set out to build the kind of room you stay in longer than you planned. Twenty years later, that's still the whole plan.
