The Unspoken Rule Of Pairing Bourbon With A Maduro
Everybody reaches for bourbon first. Here's why a smoky mezcal might actually be the better call for a full-bodied stick.
Escondido, California · West Coast's Largest Humidor
Southern California's largest walk-in humidor, three lounges deep in leather and low light, and a patio built for smoke that has nowhere better to be.
Our Story
Nathan Kalasho and Angela Yue built Lord Puffer on Las Villas Way and stocked it heavier than almost anywhere else on the West Coast. The Arturo Fuente family has stood behind this counter more than once — Lord Puffer has hosted Fuente Fever, one of the largest Fuente events on the West Coast, with proceeds going to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation. That's the kind of thing that happens when a good cigar deserves a good chair, a slow evening, and people worth talking to.
Today we hold the largest walk-in humidor in the state, but the philosophy hasn't moved an inch. Still slow on purpose. It's the kind of room where the guy next to you might own the building down the street, or might be passing through from three states over. Either way — pull up a seat.

A Word From The Lounge
"Nathan & Angela are the best at what they do — good folks. The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable, from the patio set up to the inside lounge set up."
— Vachel Howard, Google Review
The Lounge
Step past the humidor and you'll find three separate lounges built for three different moods — a leather-and-brick front room for regulars trading stories, a private lounge for the conversation that shouldn't carry, and a covered outdoor patio out back where the grill runs most Saturdays and the smoke drifts up into the California sky.
Keep a private locker with your name on it. Leave your favorite stick exactly where you left it, humidified and waiting, whenever the mood strikes again.

A tight gray ash isn't luck — it's a story about how the tobacco was grown, aged, and rolled long before it got to your hand.

Not every wooden box on a shelf deserves your cigars. Here's what separates a showpiece from a real working humidor.
